2013 Club Open Day
Well, we managed our forth club open day on Sunday, and yet again were able to muster up a decent range of layouts, some nice cakes and plenty of conversation. A quick guide to what was on show is below...
Ehrwald (N Gauge) - Mr Chairman's very attractive alpine layout based on a real location.
Warehouse District (H0) - still under construction, but subject to some progress below. There were all sorts of sound-fitted orange and black locomotives shuttling to and fro on here.
The Wipers, Fish-Hook and Menin Railway (Sn2). This layout is essentially complete...just awaiting the addition of those all important little details.
Whitchurch Canoncorum (N Gauge). A section of a larger club member's layout - under construction
Yamanouchi Oshika (N Gauge) - looking rather bereft of trains in this view. The layout was having a bad day, with a fair amount of tinkering required for its visit to Wyrail next Saturday. A new point installed on the day managed to fail - broken spring - resulting in much oathing and cursing!
Kanjiyama (N Gauge) - yours truely's offering. Behaved well after some initial issues with connections to the outer track from the control panel.
Hawkhurst (00 gauge) - this is a really nice layout, and a reasonablly faithful representation of this small rural terminus.
An action shot of a visiting Kernow class 205...
South River Terminal (H0) - John's present day US shunting plank is well on the way to being complete.
Finally, skulking in the committee room - our normal club room - was Fredrichstrasse, with some explanatory details...
All in all, a successful day and a big thank you to all those who attended.
Next week; Yamanouchi Oshika at Wyrail!
