You're doing fine!  I would suggest you don't worry about the lining application (voice of experience, having lined trouser stripes of umpty thousand model soldiers in my time!).

 

Confidence will lead to clean application, and any blodges can be easier filled in with a loaded brush, than nervously wobbling about trying to get straight lines.

Thanks Adams442T - This is as far as I'm going with the lining on this one. Those little waist panels are tricky. Still need to pick out the door handles etc with brass though.

You could try my trick of using a water-based gold paint, which will wick itself into the edges by capillary action. Any excess is easily wiped off with a cotton bud.

I would love to try that, Mike! Are you talking about the handles or the lining? Do you have post about it somewhere?

 

The paints I'm using are, incidentally, Vellejo acrylics.
