Ratio 4-Wheeler GWR Pre-Grouping Entry posted by TheCuckoo March 8, 2014 565 views Share
 Followers 1 My latest attempt at a Ratio 4-Wheeler. I'm not sure I can persevere with the lining. 7
James Harrison 4,113 Posted March 8, 2014 Looks very good! How are you doing the lining? Is it a transfer, paint pen or '?' ? Link to comment
James Harrison 4,113 Posted March 8, 2014 Certainly a lot neater than my attempts at brush-painted lining! Link to comment
Adams442T 2,136 Posted March 8, 2014 You're doing fine! I would suggest you don't worry about the lining application (voice of experience, having lined trouser stripes of umpty thousand model soldiers in my time!). Confidence will lead to clean application, and any blodges can be easier filled in with a loaded brush, than nervously wobbling about trying to get straight lines. Link to comment
TheCuckoo 70 Posted March 8, 2014 Thanks Adams442T - This is as far as I'm going with the lining on this one. Those little waist panels are tricky. Still need to pick out the door handles etc with brass though. Link to comment

You could try my trick of using a water-based gold paint, which will wick itself into the edges by capillary action. Any excess is easily wiped off with a cotton bud. Link to comment
TheCuckoo 70 Posted March 21, 2014 I would love to try that, Mike! Are you talking about the handles or the lining? Do you have post about it somewhere? The paints I'm using are, incidentally, Vellejo acrylics. Link to comment
