I've started on the road surface of the village street. I remember Gordon Gravett recommending the use of pepper for giving some texture to ground surfaces, but on raiding my kitchen I found only course black pepper, which was no use, so I resorted to some fine sand. More work still to do I think on this!

With that lovely stormy looking sky, I wonder if some puddles at the sides of the road would be in order. As I'm sure you are well aware there are only three types of weather in Wales. Raining, about to rain, or just finished raining! :-)

I suspect that there are actually only two types since, if it has just finished raining, then it is also about to rain :)

Have just worked through your blog from the beginning and I love what you have produced. Is there any update on progress since the last post?

This is absolutely beautiful - I've only just discovered it and I'm so sorry I've missed it until now - absolutely of the first order!

Thanks Giles, that's very kind.

slowcomo, I've just built some wagons, and there has been quite a lot of work done on the backscene and other landscaping - more to follow soon.
