How to hard wire to a 21 pin socket

Hi

I have a loksound 3.5 sound chip for a Bachmann g2,i have tried using a 21pin to 8 pin adaptor but it is to high to fit the tender top back on,there are 4 wires attached to the 8pin plug how can i hard wire these to the 21 pin blanking plate.

i am not sure what you mean.

my problem is i have an 8 pin plug attached to the decoder with 4 wires and i want to connect to the 21 pin socket.

I think i know what you mean now.Take of 21 pin socket and solder the 4 wires from the loco to the 8 pin plug on decoder the only problem now is which wires go were.
