Hi Guys,

The SESR's 4-CEP (Class 411) 4-car EMU has finally arrived!. It actually arrived yesterday, but I didn't get chance to open it!

Here's a few images:

I've heard comments about it was hard to couple the units together, so I decided to make a Step by Step guide

ATTENTION: Read Instructions before attempting to couple the unit!

Step 1: Unpack unit and place the unit near a section of track in the following formation:

DMBS (Powered car)

TS (place the toliet window next to the DMBS)

TC (place 1st Class compartments next to the TS)

DMBS (A) (Unpowered)

Step 2: Open bag with coupling bars (this is contained in the box with power car) and take out 3 bars

Step 3: Make sure that the brass contacts (indicated by the blue arrows on the picture below) are facing upwards

Step 4: Slide bars into NEM pockets on the inner most coaches

Step 5: Place unit on track and test, if any of the coaches interior lights don't work, take unit off track and check that the coach is the right way round and that the contacts on bar are facing upwards

I hope this helps anyone who has trouble coupling their 4-CEP

Looks brilliant. Thanks for putting photos up!

Is the unit supplied with normal tension locks for those who dont want permanent connections between carriages?

Hi,

I'm afraid not, but I have heard that you can use Kadee No. 19 couplings if you don't want the permanent couplings!
