OK, Since i seemed to have deleted my blog for some unknown reason (havent got a clue how i managed thaticon_mutter.gif ) i will start again.

Firstly i know i'm going to repeat myself for a short while but it's just to get back on the same thread, so please bear with me.

This is a picture of D1018 Western Buccaneer with engine and boiler (theatres) fitted.

Here is a close up of the engine/boiler theatres before i fitted them to the other side. As you can see these were made with various pieces of plastic section and wire, using a piece as a back to fit them onto. I used packing pieces down each side to create the impression of the walkway between the window and the engine.

Since you've had to re-post your blog, I suppose I'd better repost my comment that this is excellent work.

Groundbreaking stuff. Well done!

I love the damage to the side of the loco and the nameplate, but that detail behind the windows is superb.icon_drool.gif icon_drool.gif

I'll ask this question again then: what's the significance of the "distressed" namplate?

Hi Alcazar, I am modelling Buccaneer early 70's. She damaged the plate during a accident of some kind and after a while running like this Laira decided to remove the damaged plate,so she ran without it on that side for about 8 months before entering Swindon works for an overhaul, where she eventually received a new nameplate.
