Another Faller type bus....
I have a number of resin bus kits to work through to add a bit of variety to the Grime Street road vehicle fleet, next up is something quite 'modern' looking (well for 1951!) a Leyland Olympic to be finished as one of the ten that Yorkshire Woollen purchased and by all accounts were seen fairly often in Leeds.
Built from an LBC kit it follows my usual method of build with a KKPMO motor, faller axles and wheels married to the LBC resin chassis into which the simple on/off and reed switch circuit have been added, this one utilises an 'N' 1.5v battery and battery box fitted upside down in the chassis for ease of changing, the N battery being basically a half AA. This one has a 1:64 gearbox for a touch slower running and so far I'm quite happy with it.
Chassis pic shows it before motor mounting and wiring up, video shows it on 'accommodation' rear wheels.....yes I still get it wrong with the codes now and again, the correct sized ones are on their way.
I need to add the magnet guide arm and get the body and chassis finished off, similar to this one http://www.sct61.org.uk/yw737
