I can smell paint fumes!

Leahurst Road is now under construction at long last and I am quite happy with how things are going. I hope to capture the 1990's SE London atmosphere with this layout and the rolling stock / road vehicles will add nicely to that.

I've been doing a lot of painting various little bits in preparation before being placed on the layout, these vary from the Bachmann Concrete lampposts to the fiddly NSE style clocks that come from the station modernisation pack, also by Bachmann. Still plenty left to do and it has kept me occupied during my rare 6-day weekends, I am not certain how much will be done before I go back to work on Wednesday....

Anyway... this is what I've been doing with a paintbrush and a small tin of Humbrol Matt Red paint (number 60 - it's close enough to NSE, right?)

I think the canopy supports will need one more coat of paint but otherwise it all looks good!

Thinking of painting this but it doesn't look that straightforward, why on earth did Bachmann opt for blue??

Better get back to more painting and getting woozy from the fumes :sungum: Also got two kits to build (Peco signal box and Office buildings).

I use Stuk precision masking tape for jobs like your platform shelter. It's tedious to apply a mask but that stuff makes the best sharp edges in paint I have ever seen and isn't expensive as well as being available in a variety of widths.
