I was impressed by a recent posting on the micro layout theme. From this developed the design below for Kellarney. The size is 1.37m by 1.37m.

The prototype was operated by the Great Southern and Western Railway, until nationalisation in 1948. I am proposing to build the station as it was in 2012.

Despite appearences Killarney station is a though staion, which requires trains from Mallow to Trelee to be prepelled out of the platform, to clear the junction. When the signaller has changed to junction points and pulled the signal off, it can proceed to it's destination.

Trains from Trelee to Mallow are propelled into the platform, from the junction too! Please note that the line through the backscene, from the trainshed are there for loco and rolling stock only. The crossover is however used when running around a terminating train, such as a rugby special or an engineers train.
