Sproston - new additions for the creamery.
Good day people.
I have been occupied lately with adding some new details to the creamery, to make it more accurately resemble that which it is supposed to be!!
First on the list was constructing a small canopy over the milk churn unloading bay, using offcuts from a Wills platform canopy kit, painted in colours to match the buildings woodwork, and some Metcalfe platform surface card for the canopy's felt roof.
Next it was necessary to 'brick up' the double doors on both floors that were immediately above the new canopy which now became redundant, this was completed using a piece of red brickpaper stuck on card, and cut to fit the door apertures.
That completed the building modifications, next came two new HO scale items from overseas, a horizontal storage tank from Bush, and a forklift truck from Noch.
The tank was assembled more or less as the instructions stated, but the tank's supplied concrete base was (carefully!!) recessed into the stone sets that the yard is laid with, and the tank sprayed silver - I'm not sure as to the exact purpose it fulfils but it seems to fit in ok.
The forklift has been repainted from bright yellow to colours loosely representing one manufactured by Lansing Bagnall of Basingstoke - the catalyst to all this being the excellent set of photos of the creamery at Pont Llanio submitted to RMWEB by Karhedron of this parish...
Finally I managed to obtain some new HO scale "little people" from Preiser, these being labelled as "dairy figures" so very appropriate, they certainly help provide the much needed 'life' to the site.
Well, that's all for this time, your comments are always welcome,
Regards STEVE (Sigtech).
