Well, things have moved on. Just a little.

Let's start with the most obvious additions.

The chimney and dome are Alan Gibson brass castings intended for the J11 'Pom Pom' kit, I believe the four-pillar safety valves are from the same source however they were lying in the bottom of one of my spare bits boxes so I can't be 100% on that score.

The buffers equally are from a spares box, if I recall correctly they were originally from an Airfix Railways 4F.

Vacuum pipes?- more spares box bits, I'm afraid I really can't remember where they were originally from.

The splashers over the leading wheelset were built up from styrene sheet, backed up with styrene square section rod- they're almost solid. The tank filler caps are laminated up from 0.5mm plastic sheet- I used a hole punch to create some 5mm blanks which I then glued together and filed down. The angled/ slightly curved extension to the bunker started out as a length of 2mm square section, which I filed down to give an angle. Then I glued a length of plastic sheet to it and filled the resulting triangular gap with model filler. Some 0.5mm square section was used to create the bars to the rear spectacle plate.

I still need to fit couplings, coal rails and handrails, but I've nearly finished the actual construction of the model.
