The fleet

Christmas is just around the corner and for once I did not ask for any locomotives or units! I did ask for some rolling stock so that the locomotive fleet will have something to pull on the new layout. We shall see! :)

The fleet has been more or less the same, the only addition was 08600 Ivor in September and it has proven to be a lovely little locomotive :) I did sell one of my two Networkers recently as it was not viable for me to get it up to running condition with the severe lack of spare parts for that particular model. The other Networker did briefly get back to running condition until it's 3rd motor decided to chuck out smoke and give up, for now it will be a dummy unit for the Networker delivery train.

I've fitted Kadee couplers to most of my EMU fleet and a class 73 at one end. Some slight modifications were made to stop the magnetic bit (what is it called?) from snagging the track at the points and derailing the units. So far EPB's 6238 & 6414, MLV's 9004 and 68008, 4VEP 3588 and ED 73204 have been fitted. The photographs below shows the couplers in place.

In regards to future additions to the fleet, I've decided that the Bratchell Class 456 in NSE will be the next EMU to get. I've have been debating on whether or not to get it and like in most cases in the past, I ended up procrastinating so much on it that it disappears and gets very difficult to find afterwards! It might not be for a little while yet as I do have a few things that need to take priority on the financial side of things before remotely thinking of purchasing the quite pricey, but hopefully worthwhile kit.

This will be my last post before Christmas, so I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! :)

That 73 is rather fetching. I guess you are not planning on using remote uncoupling as you have trimmed the trip wires? I find I have to bend all/most of mine with pliers to stop them fouling.

Hello!

I have no plans for remote uncoupling for the time being although that may change in the future (might need to buy some new Kadees if I do!)
