Southeast Steam Railway - Signals
Hi,
Just finsihed the signal controlling the departure of trains from the Goods Yard reception road (It's just sat there for the photos and not stuck in!):
I don't think it's in the right position, I've got a thread in the signalling forum asking whether it is: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php/topic/6523-is-this-signal-in-the-right-position/
As with all the signals I've dispensed with the ratio operating system, but soldered a length of brass wire to the end of the operating wire.
Unlike the other Southern Signal, the arm came unpainted, so that was a pain to do!
The other fault (of my own making) was the pivot on the signal arm. The problem was that I had not pushed the pivot pin in far enough when I glue it, meaning the signal would just flop down the with the end of the arm pointing towards the base. Using a bit of quick thinking (I know, I couldn't believe it either! ). I folded up one of the etchs of the carriage end steps that dad uses and glued it under the signal arm when it was at it's 'Danger' aspect, Probelm solved! Plus it still works!
