This was posted by Shortliner some time ago (before I became a member). Here it is again for those that missed it with a couple more photos.
BTW - except for earthquake, major flood or pestilence, it will be at the Cheshire Modellers bash at crewe in January.

Looks good Nick. Nicely observed details like the post office van waiting for the train bring the layout to life and those dark hills on the backdrop say Scotland almost as much as the running in board does.
I've made a note to reserve tables for you so that you don't need to bring the trestles to Crewe.

Very nice indeed, Nick. I take it the "industry" behind the station is a Fish processing plant or suchlike, hence the insulated boxvans?

I haven't got a decent digital paln at the moment but I'm working on it. When I have one, I'll post it.

Simple, elegant and well observed . Here's me trying to shove all sorts of of track and crap on a 8' x 1'6" board and you show thats not the way to go. Thanks for sharing.

Nick, how about a some vents in the wall of the factory on the viewing side, with a computer fan in the back of the building, and a small plastic dish with three or four uncooked prawns on it for added realism at exhibitions? It could be on a timer - probably once an hour for 30 seconds would be enough Of course, you may not be invited back!

Ok - for all those who asked for it - here's the trackplan Sorry it's not very clear but the limitations on picture size mean it's considerably reduced from the original size.
Before anybody asks, it is a single slip!

Hi Nick
I looked over this thread the otherday, but it hadn't clicked that it was yours after you mentioning your US masterplan. It looks a very good little layout. Do you still work on it or have you completely given in to US HO?
Kind regards

Hi Dave
I do still work on it. It was supposed to be at Hagley but I couldn't get it and the trestles in the car, hence the appearance of Northpoint yard (as it happens, thye gave me a table anyway, so I didn't need to take the trstles!).
It will be at Crewe in January. Bob has already told me I can have a table so no need to take the trestles.

Nick,
Shouldn't it be a single track siding now???

With lots of trackside weeds and a bus shelter on the platform in lieu of the boarded up station building?
But seriously, nice little layout. Looks more effective in early 70's guise with a rat pack for company though!

Lovely layout NIck. Do you have any 37s?
A large logo 37 on a couple of MK2s would look superb!

Where did you get the station signs from?
