Large logos approaching and a Gas Turbine interlude

As time marches on, several blue liveried diesels have been withdrawn and replaced by large logo ones.

 

MetroVick 18100 was reinstated for a couple of railtours (after its ill-fated AC incarnation)…….

Yes, on Hornby chassis. 18000 came via Hattons Pre-used about a year ago for a very reasonable £112, and 18100 RTR direct from Silver Fox this week.

Hi Tim, yes I saw the pipes. Obviously a man after my own heart, I think this makes all the difference on "modern" traction, otherwise the fronts just seem bare.

I despair of "exhibition" layouts that feature locos without them or drivers (steam locos with no one of the footplate look stupid) .
