Hello smile.gif

I spent this weekend at the St Albans show courtesy of the CMRA with a demo of my modelling bits for Highclere.

I just wanted to say that I had a great time and thank you to everyone who came and spoke to me (David Bigcheeseplant, Atso, Halfwit, and others from RMWeb), it was the first 2 day show that I have done and I still got hardly any modelling done! (Apparantly this is a good thing smile.gif ) I hope that I have inspired a few people to give 2FS a go.

A special thanks goes out to the guy who told me I had the wrong type of 'flicker' to my station lamps too tongue.gif

perhaps you should change your alias to -messy- ;)

Only joking...your workbench looks pretty damn neat and organised to me.

Any 2FS layouts at the show?

'noon Messy,

What kind of things did you have on your table? Next to models, of course rolleyes.gif . And what would you do different next time?

I've been asked to do a demo in June, but to be perfectly honest.... I haven't got a clue what I'm doing blink.gif

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hello Pete smile.gif

I think you have started something there! I dont mean to be messy but lets just say the other demos were a bit more organised tongue.gif

Unfortunately there werent any 2FS layouts at the show. Apprantly they arent that common?

Hello Bryn smile.gif

I just took my toolbox, some plasti-card, and some etched kits. I planned to work on my goods shed (more later) and some 2FS chassis kits for PECO tankers if I fancied a change. Over the two days though I actually managed about an hours modelling though, the rest of the time was spent talking to people. The bits that people were most interested in were my signal and the station lamps with the tea light flickering thingy. If I were to do anything different it would be to take plenty of pictures of Highclere so people could see the layout. The book I had helped but I had plenty of people asking me about the layout and how far I have got with it (and when it will be going to shows!)

You will enjoy it.

Hi Missy

On saturday you recommended a digital camera that I should look at to get me out of the film age.

Can you remember what it was as I can't! All I remember is you saying that the macro is good and it cost about ??70.

Enjoyed seeing your work, especially the lamps.

Paul aka halfwit.

Thanks for the advice, some good ideas and it has put me in a better frame of mind of what to expect. Looking forward to the reports on your goods shed, I'm lacking inspiration to finish mine

Of course, if you were in Barcelona, it would be have to be pronounced -Missi- who is something of a legend in Catalunya ;)

As I said, just kidding...no one could forget your meticulous wiring....in fact none of your work is ever messy....

I am infact thinking of removing the 'neat' bit from my alias as my work of recent is anything but

At least if you only managed 1 Hour of modelling time, the other 15 hours were well spent recruiting potentials to the dark world of 2FS!
