Plans become reality

After pondering for a while, the sun came out and although it was cold it was bright - so the pondering stopped and I got to work.

The sector plate is made from a piece of uPVC fascia board upside down, the rails are uPVC "D" moulding superglued on the fascia.

The hardest part was trimming the track to get a decent approach angle to the sector plate, but I got there in the end.

At the all scenic end I am a point short at the moment (on order) and a couple of straights but they may get routed into the hardstanding yet !

The 2 boards are located together using the matched 4mm pilot holes in each end that I pre drilled, as centers for pattern makers dowels that have yet to arrive and be fitted. The track on the end of the all scenic board is screwed down so can be unscrewed and tweaked once the dowels are fitted. On of the nice things about such are large scale is I can work to slightly looser tolerances than say OO

The underside of the sector plate is very shinny and runs a a plastic strip at the track end, so it moves very freely. There is now plenty of room on the front of the sector plate board for a siding or two.
