Autocoach tinkering

I have been working on a couple of Autos for Caia Road. This has included a comet BR(w) auto, an uplifted airfix and a Bachmann example.

I have been doing a bit of weathering and have given the airfix one a spray of muck. The roof remains loose as I need to finish some details inside. 20240225_210411.jpg.8ec093514193795437761f18e795de7e.jpg

The sides were kept relatively clean on the airfix coach

I made a bit of a mess (not in the intended way) of the Bachmann example but have tried to correct this. I have gone quite heavy but don't have pictures as yet.

The flush glazing has certainly lifted the vulnerable Airfix model.

Nice finish and weathering effects to..

Thanks Mark.

The flush glazing is well worth the effort. The toplight windows are very fiddly!!

Can I ask what you used to spray the base carmine colour of your autocoaches? Did you use Halfords? The reason I ask is I've sprayed my coaches and ended up with differing shades! Both look right, but different!

Nice modelling!

Hi David,

Apologies for slow response. I used car spray paint from The Range. They are called hycote and the colour is ford rosso red. I use halfords red primer first.

No problem as I've spent the last few days stewarding and building/demolishing barriers at Ally Pally, so no modelling time! Thanks for letting me know what you use - I'll have to check out The Range.
