A new direction
I am moving yet again in a few months so the layout that I had constructed in the loft is now completely dismantled. 1 baseboard has scenery the rest are blank and there are several scenic modules which could be from any era.
I have been having a think as well about the eras that I model and I know more about the modern day era (late 80s to present) than I do about the steam era.
I am planning to do a new model railway loosely based on Newton Abbot or Totnes with a heritage railway based on a branch line leading off the main line. (just so I can have a few steam locos as well). I am going to call it Teignton.
Something that I have started to appreciate is all the modern livery and colours actually looks more cheerful on a modern era 90s onwards layout than the steam era and cheerful is something I could do with.
I write this as i wait for the first of my modern era locos to turnup from Accurascale. A class 66 in Freightliner orange, that should set the bar i thought.
Layout will be DCC with CBUS controlling the layout control and DCC controlling the locos.
I am going to he back in a small spare room in the house but the old layout i doubt will fit geometry wise so it's going to need a bit of work. Lots of other boards are empty so I have a blank canvas.
