A CR D49 heavy weight wagon part 1


The CR built four heavy weight flat wagons of 16 ton load capacity to D49 in 1898. I have a Diagram drawing with the basic dimensions and there is a reasonable side on photo in the wagon book.

 

Ah, a flat wagon. Not even any sides to build. A simple project for the Christmas period. Sort of….

 

The solebars from some channel brass, the rest from standard parts or the scrap etch pile. the McIntosh patent  brake is cobbled together from a variety of brake bits.
