PVA and ballast fun !

Before going to work this morning I applied PVA/Water to the ballast, the plan being it would be warmer during the day than night. The plan worked ! Then this evening I built the start of the platform area and added the ballast between it and the rear track. Also some stone on the front curved wall. Finally it has had a light spray with dirt brown.

I must be honest John and say that when I first read about your intention to use the Playmobil parts I was sceptical about your chance of success. How wrong I was and how pleased I am to be able to admit that! It did look cheap and very toylike at first but it now looks absolutely the part. I'm sure your modelling skills have a lot to do with it but you must have generated immense additional interest in Playmobil gear with the results you have achieved. Totally inspirational - can't wait to see what you come up with next.

Thank you.

Hope I haven't generated too much interest as it will push the playmo prices up on Ebay ! They say Necessity is the mother of invention and that is the case here, I love the bigger scales but cant justify the bigger prices of LGB etc. I've been paying in the region of £9.00 for a set of points new as apposed to £50+ fro LGB. Better still on a good day you can get a Playmo set on Ebay for £25 which includes a circle of track, 9 straights motor block and controller. So all told its working out cheaper than OO at the moment !
