Rannoch Station Roof

Hi Everyone,

I have not really bothered to update my blog quite as I should. I am continuing to document the building of Rannoch in the layout topics section for anyone that is interested showing all the stages of the build and the techniques I have used as well - it may be of use to some of you and comments and advice is always welcome as it is helping me to get the layout to the standard I want to achieve - well hopefully that is the plan! The roof of the station has now taken shape and I hve even recreated the chimney stacks on top as well. There is still a lot of work to do before everyhting is complete but it is making progress again. Here are a couple of shots with more details of the work and photos on my Rannoch layout topic.

Thanks for looking,

Mark

Hi Mark,

I appreciate what you are saying about keeping the blog and layout topic up to date. I decided to just have one myself, the blog format, and index all my activities as I knew I would never keep track of 2/3 threads at a time - I guess it is down to personal preference.

Back to the station, I read the entry on this and the layout topic and I think the other photos capture more successfully what you have be doing with the roof - the chimneys look the business and the roof joints look much better. Perhaps a mixture of moss and pigeon droppings carefully placed might help disguise them even further!

Great work, keep posting as its very inspirational, particularly for a certain person who needs to build a 2mm building of KoL in the next 6 weeks!

This is looking great! I've always liked the stations on the West Highland Line, and now i've managed to create an excuse to build one on my new narrow gauge layout. It will be to be a 2/3 size one probably but your thread will be very useful to read through before I begin!

Keep up the good work! ;)

Mark - Thanks - I forgot to say, in Ian Futers last book on Modelling Scotlands railways I recall there is a picture of Rannoch station building - did you see that? Pete
