Fitting it all in

Had a play at lunchtime with Anyrail and one thing that is certain, standard Peco track will not do! I need much tighter rad pointwork for my little harbour laugh.gif

Thanks to help from Martin at Templot the Marcway 48" point kits might do the job but ideally I want pointwork down to 32" which gives me approximately setrack type curves which my little Pug should handle okay. Looks like Martin will be getting an order from me cool.gif

What size is the baseboard - I'll XTrkCad it with Setrack turnouts and curves - I'll also need the approx radius you want for the curve at the left. Assuming OO as the Pug appears to be that. It looks similar to what I needed for Harlem Station Yard in 2010

erm, no this is O gauge - that's the problem laugh.gif

Baseboard is approx 7 foot by 3 foot, with a big cutout at one end for the PC etc. The Dark Green area on the original plan (which IS OO) gives you the actual shape of the board ...

Ahh!, I hadn't connected with the gauge - If it would help, I have Peco OO/HO Setrack templates which could be resized by photocopier/scanner to see if the curvatures/dimensions will do what you want - If it helps email or PM me a postal address and I'll pop them in an envelope

If you fancy making your own Setrack-equivalent templates in XTrkcad, set preferences to metric and scale to O and then go to the turnout designer - select regular turnout and enter the following = Diverging length 33.200, Diverging offset 6.800, diverging angle 23.00, overall length 33.400 and save it

then go to curved turnout and enter = inner length 49.00, inner angle 36.000,inner offset 17.600, outer angle 25.000, outer offset 8.800, outer length 47.400, and save it - you should now be able to print off the templares at 1:1 if you don't work in metric for drawing your designs, go back to preferences and reset to English . Cheers Shortliner, to be honest I think I'm going to bite the bullet and get Templot once I get underway with this project.
