Back on RMweb
Well guys after waiting untill RMweb finaly settled down after changing to the new format I thought it was about time that I got posting again. Please bare with me as im just getting my head round this 'blog' style of posting. Also I have somehow accidently created two blogs !
Ok introductions first..
My name is Dave and some of you will be fimilar with my current layout projects from the old RMweb. Currently I have four layout projects on the go and all are based on the WCML. My bigest project is my 00 gauge heatherburn garden railway. This is now into it's fourth year and is still not fully operational! Above the indoor section of the garden railway sits my N gauge layout Trumptonshire. This is a 10'x6' split level layout and has taken a back seat over the past couple of years whilst I work on other projects. Layout number three is a layout that im building for a friend in a spare 12'x11'room. The layout is based loosly on Manchester Piccadilly and is being built on three levels. Lastly is my 00 gauge module Potters lane that is being built as part of the YMR forum module layout and is due to be shown at their show down in cornwall in september.
Im not sure if any of the old layout threads are still available on RMweb but if I do manage to locate them I will post the links here.
Right... currently I have Potters lane set up in the living room whilst I try and get it finished for it's next outing in a couple of weeks. Those that followed to origanal thread will be fimilar with the layouts construction using foamex board and an old interior door. Since the last time I posted here the layout has attended a couple of local shows as a work in progress. The first outing was back in december with an invitation to the Perth green model railway club open day. Whilst there the layout was spotted by the Birtley club and appeared at their show in feb. This show was intresting as the public were voting for the layout as best at show but as we were there as a trade stand the layout was disqualified. Still I was happy that our unfinished layout was getting a lot of attention and we also received another couple of show invites. A week later it was back to Jarrow for the Perth green show and by this time the OHLE was finished. The layouts next outing will be in three weeks time at the Shildon clubs open weekend that is being held at the NRM's locomotion museum Shildon on 5-6 June. As well as Potters lane being a part of the YMR module setup I will also be building the fiddle yards so im hoping to test these at the Shildon show as our living room is not quite big enough!
