Some modelling and a few gratuitous trolleybus pics.

What's going on, two entries in less than a week! Mention was made of the modded PC trams chassis for a Corgi Feltham, so here it is in primer

And with the Corgi body fitted

The general idea behind this is to do with the proposed resin body kit for LCC1/Leeds 301 which if all goes to plan (yeah, right!) would feature an r-t-r chassis using the PC/Halling chassis as a base unit but with platforms/stairs/doors/bulkheads/controllers etc, basically fit lifeguards, bogie sides etc and body and you're ready to go. So the Feltham is a bit of a proving idea, it needed lengthening wheras for 301 bogie centres are good. Admitedly the Feltham uses max traction trucks and the Halling ones are equal wheel, I can live with that for the better performance/quieter running etc.

Mention of 301, well here's the first pic of a very 'rough' top deck, loads of work still to do, but it is sort of begining to look like what it should do (hopefully!), need to have something to work on whilst 600 is setting/drying etc!

On a completely differerent tack, I seem to pass the Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft regularly heading down the M180 to pick my daughter up, so decided to call in on Sunday. I can heartily recommend it, whilst not a huge site it's pretty reasonable to get in (a fiver) plenty of trolleybus rides (included) a really good depot tour (free) and top quality/highly recommended onsite catering (2 brews, 2 sandwiches and 2 pieces of cake for just over six quid, bargain! God, I've been in Yorkshire too long, I'm turning into a Yorkshireman!!) So a couple of pics

Interesting work Red Devil.

My dad has had quite a dalliance with 4mm trams over the years, but has never yet painted one !!!

My new next door neighbour moved in on Saturday and her dad was telling me he drove Walsall trolleybuses for a number of years.

Great work looks like you were at this modelling of trams forever instead of a newstart.Great to watch your work, can't wait to get one of your kits.

Car aerosols are the answer! Having said that, some of the 'more desirable' white metal kits seem to go for daft money, £130ish for a Midd bogie, I'd sooner build my own!

Re the trolleybuses, find them quite fascinating, don't remember them in service, can see why they're called 'silent death' though god knows how many tons but virtually silent.

I did build a few Machester cars from plasticard etc a few years back, hadn't done any modelling of any sort for a good 7-10 years, suppose it's a bit like the bike riding scenario.

Keep looking at the Glasgow Coronations and Standards, along with a few from Sunderland, trying not to get sidetracked!
