Hello everyone, and welcome to the first entry from my workbench.

A couple of weeks ago I bit the bullet and bought myself a 2 car 117 in NSE livery (however I stupidly overlooked the TSL next to it!) with a view to adding extra detail, lighting and improving the performance of the 'pancake' motor. I started to add detailing parts to it yesterday, the pictures below illustrate how far I've got with it so far. So far, I have flush-glazed most of the windows, added a screw link coupling and high intensity headlamp to the front of the DMS (which is yest to be converted from a DMBS) as well as drilling the holes for the addition of pipework.

The only stumbling block that I have come across, apart from the bogies which I'll talk about in a bit, was the front lug, that secures the chassis to the body was part of the original, less than flush glazing. This was broken, through brute force! So, as one of the pictures shows, a plasticard lug had to be created, and actually works better than the original lug!

Anyway, back to the bogies, I'm hoping there'll be a few of you reading this and looking at the pictures, and I was wondering if there were any cast bogie sides that can be used to replace the undersized bogies and reduce the yawning chasm between the body and the bogies?
