Final height of upper boards decided on and fiddle yard laid out

Well I thought I would update on the progress I've got done today and it's been relaxing and fun even though I've had to get up once or twice from the floor as my legs have gone dead.

The update is that I've made use of the 2 a1 sheets of 5mm foam board and I've used them to raise the upper level from 10mm high to 20mm high and I'm really pleased with the results. I tried it with just 1 board of 5mm on top of the already laid 10mm but it still didn't look right so I placed the 2nd board down and then to hide the different boards I went round the entire edge with masking tape and smoothed off the edges so it now just looks like one very thick board but into 2 halves.

It also means that I will be able to seperate the look of the upper and lower lines and break it up a bit.

I've also been able to sort out the track work and how it is going to sit in the fiddle/freight holding line. I'm really pleased with the results from this as I now have 9 storage lines on the upper level and still have the 2 lower freight only lines so I have managed to get some variation of what I can run (when I buy it that is) on each line of the layout.

So now as I mentioned in the thread about how to fix down the flexi track I have to work that out but for now I'm very happy with what I've got done. I've still got to test the clearances in the fiddle yard but I've spaced them out as much as I can so I can't see there being a problem but then again those are infamous last words. We will see.
