Took a long time but I have finalised the layout design. Due to space restrictions the layout will be a 5 foot by 3 foot N-Gauge layout.

My only suggestion would be to get rid of the four straight bits between the curves, and then tilt the whole layout at a slight angle to the baseboard edges. That would give you a bit more room around the outside of the track for scenery, and get away from the train set look a bit. But only a suggestion :D

I agree with Barry ten I find that less track makes for a more realistic layout. It is tempting to cram in as much as possible but it rarely ends up satisfying you.

Hi.

 

The layout will be DC using a Morley controller. Points will be switched using the GEM Mercontrol mechanical system with either slide or microswitches to switch point polarity.

Am working on the 'less and rotated' track plan. I think you guys are right and it was a little too much as was.
