More fiddling with track...

Salutations.

I have been adding short pieces of easitrac to the exit end of the board using home made brass sleepers at the ends, which have been cut through and pinned to the board for strength. Ballast drying over these at present. Just adding that bit of ballast/ PVA mix-goo makes me appreciate the simplicity of pressing ballast onto sticky tape and hoovering up the surplus.

I have ended up effectively rebuilding the switch rails on one of the points. As i said, you live and learn!

Can't proceed until these are 100% reliable, but geting a tad fed up of holding them open/closed to run trucks through now!

I got the 2mm AS wheels for my little 1F a couple of weeks ago- remember that? Some gears also arrived, and I have been sketching and planning the chassis / gearbox for this little engine, which is going to be the mainstay of the Little midland branch - although if course the 2F and Kirtley OF will make regular appearances, and there is the Spinner to tug the occasional summer excursion!

I've also paid a deposit on a new 0-4-4T kit... plenty to do keep me busy!

Best picture I can add thus far, thtough it all looks a bit messy at the moment:

This is the skect for board 2, which has little on it but the other end of the run round loop:

Me again Chris :D

It all looks pretty neat to me - you might need to coat that ballast in (and I am guessing here) a can of cheap hair spray to fix it? Whilst short term it holds the ballast, you might need to make it a little more permanent as a fail safe - perhaps someone who has done that can jump in here?

Good idea,Pete. I hadn't considered hairspray - doesn't it gets all over the rails too? I seem to recall it giving Mark Cox runnning grief at Expo.

I need to minimise the potential for disaster with this given my gungho approach!

I was going to patch in some more ballast and PVA it in the usual fashion. However, the part I did that with around the 3" exit rails has remained darker in colour which is a real pain. :(

I am thinking about ripping that part up and redoing it...

Cheers

Chris
