Hythe Parkway - Almost there!

Hi,

 

Right there has been an massive amount of work done on the extension!

 

Firstly, all the lights have been wired in, all the building have been stuck down and backscenes have been half done. Secoundly, after visiting the Watford Show and Alton Model Centre, we have detailed the layout up!

 

But, there's going to no photos of it until either Wednesday or Thursday because I'm taking the layout up to my clubs (High Wycombe and District Model Railway Society) clubrooms over the next couple of days and will do a big launch update. But, just to tease you, here's a night shot:

Also, I got home from School at 1 today (I know it's half-term, but I was called in to finish some geography coursework) to the latest issue of Model Rail. I flipped through it to the back page to find a very familiar name, yes 'Hythe Parkway' (sadly without the extension) will be appearing in the next issue (April 2011) of Model Rail, on sale March 24th!

Thanks Matt, yes it's only taken 2 years for the Model Rail article to get through, although I fear that 90% of what's in it is very out-of-date!

I'll definitely have to buy Model Rail next week!

 

I think you'll need a gate on that gap in the brick wall though wink.gif

Seriously though, impressive stuff - I'd love to see this one at an exhibition in the future.

Thanks, but I've just realised I've put the wrong month on there, it's in fact March 24th! Sorry!

 

Yeah we've got a lifting barrier to go in!

Well done for getting it in there, even if the progress and extension mean it's slightly out-of-date now!

Hi,

 

Answer to that is, we're not, it'll look abit odd, but the backscenes we have have a small area of tarmac at the bottom, so it won't look too odd
