More work in the paint shop this week. The narrow gauge 48DS is now almost finished, its had its final coat of satin varnish and just needs glazing. The main body colour is Revel acryilic Bronze Green and the frames and roof Precision Dirty Black. A pic;
The Nonneminstre Fowler Resilient has had a coat of satin varnish as well. Main body colour this time is Humbrol Brunswick Green, again with Precision Dirty Black for the frames and roof. This still needs its interior painting and the brake stand, exhaust, air intake and radiator and fuel filler caps adding. Another pic;
Note the wooden stands that the locos sit one for painting, they just slot on. A couple of turns of masking tape around the upright can help by making the fit tighter.
Also being worked on is my 48DS chassis, representing a loco that has been cut down into a trolley. I sprayed this with red oxide primer, masked off the checker plate platform, then sprayed the sides and ends with leather. Then I blobbed on some Maskol and gave it a coat of Brunswick green. It needs a lot more work before its finished, at the moment it looks like a bad attempt at camoflage! Judge for yourself;
Paul.
