Rain and styroplast...

I have thought more about the yard and decided to make the industry a brewery (!), part of a small industrial wharf, perhaps somewhere on the River Trent.I have seen quite a few quality brewery models here and there and there are plenty of prototype photographs out there. The river wharf itself will not feature, the view will be from the river across the yard.

As well as painting the bathroom today and minding my daughter's dog, I have managed to apply some paint to the yard.

I have tried to add some "puddles" to give the impression of a grey rainy day - quite in keeping with the subject matter.

I thought I would try sitting some gloss varnish over those dark patches left for this purpose - you can just see one catching some reflections.

The background tenement pic is again just for effect.

This second photo shows the other end of the little board, and how I have cut and used a Merkur styroplast retaining wall to give the impression of the line being built up above a flood plain, thought the water line is a little indistinct haha.

[The bottom section of the wall was used for the wharf edge - see top photo.]

I must get around to replacing those missing sleepers.

Good fun this. no pressure, and thoroughly enjoyable; and filling a gap left by the bits I am waiting ofr to carry on Little Barnswell!

Editors Note:

just thought I would add a couple of photos to bring this up to date as of this afternoon, as I'm not likely to do much else this week:
