X3900

SNCF stephen

Here is a quick update on one of my projects that I have been dabbling in over the past few weeks. This is the X3900 autorail. It is different from other Picasso Autorails in that this one and its sister X3896 were converted into salloons for the SNCF management (much in the same way that the EWS company train is on the British network Today). It was painted in a green livery with a white stripe that is not too disimilar at the ends to the DMU's being run in the United Kingdom. With the conversion there were a number of key differences externally. These include the front windows being altered from 3 smaller windows to two larger windows. Also the larger doors at the entrances were changed to single doors (with an extra set of single doors at the driving end of the train). An extra window was also installed. The train had two lounges with a centrally located table could seat up to twelve in the front lounge and 6 in the rear lounge. A small galley was installed (hence the extra windows) as well as a small bathroom.

This particular example is now found at Borts Les Ourges in the Auvergne region.

I have made this out of a Del Prado X3800 body shell with some significant modifications. Here is my current progress.

As always, thanks for reading.
