The Eagle has landed..

backofanenvelope

After a rather frantic time what with one thing and another I am now happily in charge of a new flat with all the benefits of open space and also a kitchen table that can be the home to modelling on the long winter nights. Having measured up a couple of spaces I have found a nook of 11ft for potential future layout extravaganza. Anyway suffice to say things are looking up at backofanenvelope towers.

Today I spent some happy hours at the 2SA AGM where I bumped into friends old and new. Nice putting faces names and a special thanks to 2mmAndy for demonstrating me the RSU something that I think might be a valuable addition to the toolset. It was interesting to see the Association at work and it fairly whizzed along closing in record time apparently. I was also good to see the trophy presentations for some truly amazing pieces of modelling.

Then there was the 2mmFS area packed with the good and the great of the Assoc and some real gems not to mention Wenford Bridge. I remember seeing this many years ago and it is still as good as it was then. Another case of railway in the landscape.. with a working crane! There were many other good layouts and left me with the feeling I really must get cracking and stop procrastinating.

So what did I buy. Well after being very restrained apart from the wheels and bearings needed from Central Shop I splashed out on some more rolling road stirrups, decoders for the 66's and some Digitrax Panels..

More to follow when I get on with modelling rather than windbagging!

Over and out..

It was good to meet you. I bought more than £30 worth of rolling stock wheels. Far less exciting than your purchases.

Pete, there was no pre-show social and so I went for the day ;) but good to meet up with people.. As for space it is at the moment just that and just some ideas in my head! :) but if plan a goes well then I can use stock from that on plan B, but it's some way off!

Wheels are necessary for the pile of coach bogies that are getting built.

I acquired a couple of books and bits and pieces. As such I'm now reading Edwardian Enterprise and have drawings for a type 5 signal box. I already have the station building drawings for Littlemore so that's the two main buildings that have to be modelled covered. Just got to clear some space to start them
