A different angle on things.

I've studied the forum for a short while before deciding that the only safe place for this post is in my rather sporadic blog. It doesn't really fit in photography or the feedback group so here it shall stay.

This afternoon, I was struck with a desire to have a play. There was little organisation - just an old piece of ply, some redundant track and a Peco Diesel Shed. Long story short, I threw down some track, broke the shed into two sections and dug out a couple of locos. I did put some power to the lines - well, why not?

The aim of the exercise is to try and capture a realistic angle for some photos. Nice scenics and tastefully weathered locos can wait for now as this is about replicating a real photo, if you catch my drift. This is what I came up with and I'm grateful for any comment that you feel like making. The second one is my preferred effort as it is something I don't recall seeing much in model photos. We always have the luxury of getting a shot of the front end but wandering around a real depot, you won't always be so lucky.

Here we are:

Using a small point/shoot digital camera means that I am let down by the small focal area but as I said, this is more about the angle of the shot and it's 'feel', if you will.
