....Just the roof to go!

Hi all!

A little more progress on the Carriage and Boiler shop building. The Southern side is now complete, and the whole building as now been assembled. All that remains to tackle now is the roof.

Following some suggestions after the last entry, I've added a roof, to aid keeping the walls straight, and added a third layer to the walls on the inside. I've also decided not to remove the window spaces. The real building has opaque cladding which you can't see through, and just by layering the windows over the inner most layer, I can achieve the same effect. There also isn't much to look at inside!

Things were made slightly more difficult by the building not being symmetrical, the North wall is slightly taller than the South!

The false ceiling fully installed. The building is quite sturdy now it's all together.

The roof is likely to take a little longer to complete as there are twice as many windows along both sides so lots of cutting out rectangles awaits, not to mention yet more microstrip. I think I’m going to need more Mek-pak!!

Cheers all,

Tom.

Looking really good Tom, you have the patience of a saint with all that micro strip cladding.

Thanks Pete.

I'll be using white primer, as thats what I have to hand, but hopefully at the weekend I'll get some green applied!

Thanks Stephen!

So long as you have a sharp blade, a metal ruler and a little patience i'm sure you could produce something just as good! If I can do it, anyone can!!

I wish I could Tom, my hands are not precise enough. I cannot cut decent straight lines to save my life (on pretty much any project). I usually try and find ways around it.
