Red Devil

First model of Leeds 600 arrived from I Materialise arrived this week, overall quite happy, there's some minor stepping on the roof but that should be easily sorted.

Advert boards are on a test etch by Mark Hughes, early impressions are that he's got them absolutely spot on, so hopefully this should be a nice easy model to complete. It goes straight onto a Halling C mech which is pretty much spot on for bogie centres etc.

Meanwhile one of 'the other' Leeds railcoaches gets a bit closer, this being an old Tramalan model of 601/2. To be honest this was a bit of a pain, I couldn't get a good fit of the roof sides and ends and in the end gave up and took every bit of detail off, then smoothed the shell and re instated the detail......painful! I'm still in 2 minds about it as it is very much of its day being a farly heavy cast white metal model, the window pillars being pretty heavy, I don't know yet it may end up on a well known auction site and a 3D model may take it's place,

Thought I'd add another Feltham to the fleet, so enter Leeds 501, which was LTPB 2099 and the one that came to Leeds In 1949 before any others, this ran in London red and cream for about 4 years, so it gives another livery option for the Leeds modeller (and you thought modern stuff changed regularly!) So an LT Corgi Feltham was procurred and fitted with a bow, all LT decals and adverts were removed with nail varnish remover and a set of Halling bogies fitted to the Corgi chassis, very similar to the Middleton chassis shown earlier. Still waiting Leeds decals and adverts, along with trucksides.

Latest CAD is now finally tweaked and finished, Ex Manchester Pilcher, finally happy after many ammendments.

Pivotal prints early next week, that's one I'm really looking forward to.
