Leeds 600 fresh from the paint shop.......

Red Devil

Yeah I know that I said the next entry would be something else! Anyway I have just about finished spraying Leeds 600, it still needs the fenders painting brown and a bit of fettling here and there but it's not a million miles off......

Advert boards will be added later, as they would be a pain to mask, grey back, ivory front. 600 only had 4 Leeds crests, one on each saloon, so transfers will be pretty easy....

Chassis is a Halling C mech, which I'll fit a false floor to, with half seats and a (pretty much) full interior.

For those interested, the colours I use for this (and other Leeds cars) are, Rover Monza Red and Land Rover Ivory for the (faded) white, I find white too white if you know what I mean! Ford Bailiol blue is a good match to the dark blues and matches up well to the blue used on the EFE Horsfields.

Work on Snowblade 7 has started..........

What material do you use to glaze the windows? There's an awful lot to do...Mike

Just normal clear plasticard, usually 10 thou, fixed in with Kleer, only problem on this one may be the quaterlights in the 3 end windows, I may glaze this one from the rear if I can't get it to look right, otherwise it's just a question of cutting the glazing to the correct height and then scribing and then cutting each window, I used to hate doing the glazing, now I quite enjoy it, like anything else, the more you do the easier it tends to become!

Looking good. Thinking about the glazing, and seeing just how fine the platform window pillar is on the pivotal, could you redo the print with much finer verticals for those quarterlights so that glazing from the rear would still match the rest of the flush glazing?

Probably not, I think they're both on the limit of 'to scale' fineness, the quaterlights on 600 are even finer than on the piv (width) if I reduced the depth I don't think they'd print at all.

I may chicken out and do the saloon windows from the rear with the cab sides, front and doors all flush glazed, otherwise it will never get finished!

Final tweaks on the completely revised Middleton now just about done, it's gone to the same detail level as 600 etc, I think test prints will be being ordered by early next week.

Although I really fear being side tracked as a 7mm model in Prime Grey has just landed from Belgium and I am worried that the 7mm bug has bitten....... more soon!
