Some referance photos of Roberts tank wagons

Recommended Posts

As promised for another member, here are some referance photos of 3 Roberts tanks. These would have been uploaded to the gallery, but it doesn't seem to want to work for me (most likely operator error on my part!).

The first series are of Molasses Tank number 6, built 1925, rivetted body, with an interesting brake arrangement, via a cross link and a pair of bow girders the handbrake works on both sides rather than single sided as per the other 2 vehicles (built later). Note, all these tanks are fitted via through vacuum pipes, this is a preservation addition.

First 3 photos in order: General Arrangement, detail of one end, Securing hawser detail.
