  1. There are two gaps in my loco fleet, namely D260-66 and D7602-08. These 14 diesels aren't going to make that much difference to their balance sheet when I get round to the purchase, but I will be able to add them to the roster with confidence (and consistency). I've already sated my desire for Class 37 and 47 with earlier tooling, and more than two dozen Peaks would just be greed.
  2. Euston Downside was dedicated to NPCCS. It's not especially modellable mind you. The following had allocations of NPCCS and some had dedicated areas for their maintenance and repair. Bounds Green Cambridge Bristol Marsh Junction Bristol Pylle Hill Edinburgh Craigentinny Old Oak Common Heaton Cardiff Canton
  3. LOL! It pains me to say that I struggle massively with Rule One. I have to keep quiet about it for fear of causing offence. When I hear it being invoked, I feel like the actors in Black Adder, when the actual name of 'the Scottish Play' is mentioned!
  4. Based on the headcode glass geometry alone I'm prepared to bet that IS the first version.
  5. Wow! That's a pretty decent gap between posts - over 12 years! I've no idea TBH; they'll not have been chucked out but quite where they reside just now is not known. I'll keep my eyes open just in case!
  6. Frankly the appearance of this version is not at all to my taste, being a bit of a straight-edge Death Steam kind of guy. It's impossible to tell through all that gaudiness how the poor thing would look caked in grot and as though it's at one with the Cumbrian landscape.
  7. It's swapping from platform 1 to 2 for some operational purpose.
  8. That's fantastic, thank you so much! Those will be my pair then, by a very simple process of deduction! Interesting to see Forfar with an allocation, for the Strathmore route and itself lost without trace.
  9. I think Vi-Trains locos are known to operate more responsively in reverse. 😄
  10. That's a total of 510 locos, you must be a millionaire!
  11. This is very illuminating; I am the proud owner of a pair of Sharks, and thought I should be in the market for a couple more. But it seems that on the Eastern at least, they only hunted in pairs. In my extrapolation of the universe, these would be notionally allocated to the DCE Edinburgh, so probably at Slateford. It occurs to me now though, that to have any more would be overkill, and bring in another DCE, Carlisle perhaps. They're not cheap from the Hornby aftermarket so this should trim my wants list by a few quid.
  12. That, simply put, is the nub of it. And by recent, I mean the previous iteration without the tinted windows, whiplash aerial and racing trim. I expect people with significant quantities of pre-2022 Bachmann 47s would be highly unlikely to add, even less swap to, the Danish duff.
