No. 7 slow speed?

Hornby’s beginner locomotives are renowned for their high top speed and nothing in between. So I am quite surprised at how controllable no.7 is without any alterations to the chassis (except very clean wheels and track!).   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaKoRaQY_H4         However it doesn’t compare to this!   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTaYb2aJHeQ

Progress made. Just painted the buffer beams red, and also reduced the chimney in keeping with the reduced loading gauge . I have also varnished the transfers, which much improves it in my opinion.   All that’s required now is touching up those buffer beams, fitting some of the narrow style tension lock couplings and a light weathering.
