I wasn't going to, but here, by popular request , are some pictures of the internally complete No 2 end cab. Everything is pretty much the same as the other end, but with different rear bulkhead detail. The lights highlight the detail nicely, even in daylight! 16T Minerals

Oh dear, my computer decided to give up recently and required some time in the local PC shop for repairs. So without the PC I had no option but to bite the bullet and get on with some modelling again.     I finally got around to adding some colour to my goods shed. This was done using water colour pencils recommended by Steve (Pixie). I'm quite happy with the out come, but it still needs some touching in. I couldn't resist buying a few of these at the recent Stafford exhibition and chose four of the Blue Circle liveried wagons (B873364) for my initial purchase. Barrow Road Boards update

It's a while since I did any work on the boards, so with the temporary lull in work on the shed buildings I decided to spend some time on the boards. The last work was cutting the styrofoam to produce the incline base on the boards north of Barrow Road road bridge. It is at this point that that incline begins at 1 in 89 rising to 1 in 60 up the bank to Fishponds Station. The styrofoam has been cut and fixed to the boards. Now ready for painting in rusty bauxite. The original Parkside chassis was reused with modified axleboxes. Various details were added from scraps of plastic (the buffer beams are Evergreen channel), shock spring covers were spares from another Parkside kit and some MJT shock buffers finish it all off.   For some reason none of these wagons seem to have lamp irons, despite being fitted. Presumably there must have been a reason for this - other shock wagons have them.

DCC Shortcircuits on Insulfrog points

After buying a Q1 (Hornby one) I was eager to try it out. Unfortunatly the wheel rim width is slightly wide and causes a short circuit on some points. A possible solution is to extent the 'frog' by painting (in black or rusty colour oil paint) on the corner where short circuit occurs. Tip for viewing the track on the other side of the engine I have found that a macup mirror from christmas cracker helps this way you don't need to lean over too much.   On the downside painting obviously increase

kitmaster garratt project!

Hi Guys,   Just returned from the Newbury Show with Hythe! All in all, it was the best the layout has ever performed! The stock performed well, all but one point work faultlessly (but after a while that point worked well!), the new lighting gantry worked well (after we stopped breaking the bulbs! ).   We had an extra piece of stock with us, in the form of a Hornby Class 395, which was lent to us by High Wycombe & District Model Railway Society member Paul Chapman (Thanks Paul!). First powered P4 movements and more 00 fun

Crossover change

The reason I haven't completed the point motor installation yet, is because of the really hard challenge of the crossover by the tunnel. Hard to reach, hard to do. So, here is the plan.   Remove the points, and put them onto Crewesly TMD. Buy 2x Left hand 'Express' points and 2x Right hand 'Express' points. This will allow me to crossover my trains onto different tracks from both directions. One of the crossovers will be on the mainline section near the level crossing, whilst the other will be
