More Research

Another nice day, so I took the opportunity to nip down to Pulborough for some more prototype pictures. All I can say is thank goodness for digital cameras...I took 86 pictures in 30 minutes   We start from (north to south) at the scenic break for what will be the right-hand side of the layout from the viewing side...the road overbridge carrying Church Lane. As can be seen, it is quite a nice structure built in a mixture of stone and brick.   The station can be seen clearly in the other

Pulborough - A UK prototype in T Gauge

It has been well over 6 months since I last added something here!   More ideas have been formulating over the last few months, some of which have manifested in other threads, however something struck me in the world of T Gauge the other day...and the source of this was none other than Electra Railway graphics.   http://www.electrarailwaygraphics.co.uk/ A very naughty Mr Warr has decided to start producing his tranfer sets for T Gauge...mainly to fit the Hankyu 9000 sets that have recently

Kanayaguchi

One of my many ideas has been to build a small third-sector Japanese line. There are lots of small railcars and single car DMUs to make something like this a realistic proposition. I'll probably be making some reference to it on here, but in the main progress for this will be on the 2010 thread...   http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php/topic/3507-kanayaguchi/

T Gauge Musings

Some may recall a while ago I was looking to build a T Gauge model. Now I know space cannot be used as an excuse here, the issue was simply one of time. During the interim, I did a little bit of work on John's 'Lynnbottom' layout, on the scenic side. Now the T Gauge manufacturer, Eishindo, have a number of exciting items in the pipeline including points (hurrah! ) and the Kiha 40 diesel railcar - much to look forward to.   Something that has been planned for quite a while are road vehicles, a

Petworth Town

So we have a location; a small market town in the heart of West Sussex deemed important enough to have its own branch line connection to the ???main line??™ two miles to the south. In hindsight it should have been clear to the LBSCR that they were on to a hiding to nothing, Petworth station was just about breaking even, so how the town could ever hope to sustain a branch of its own was a mystery ??“ the Lords of Leaconfield were a very persuasive lot!   Ever since I had this idea, to me there

Finally Starting a layout!

So this is it, my first personal blog! On here will be my thoughts, plans and (hopefully) executions for a number of ideas I have had buzzing round my mind for the last few years. Over the last few years my modelling attention has centred on our club??™s layouts ??“ which are covered in the Liphook & District MRC thread, as I have been unable to pursue my own interests at home.   Now the excuses??¦   I have not had a personal layout for over 15 years; a combination of no cash, permanent
