I've been a little busy as well as a little down about things. I've not had a job for nigh on two months now and I'm slightly wound up unable to find a new job and slowly loosing mo
My girlfriend has such strange & creative titles titles for my engines.
Anyway, I shall keep this short and sweet as you pretty much know how I weather my engines. Unfortuantly, my pcitures are terrible
I have finally finished my WD which was once a limited edition K&WVR 90733 and is now an even more limited edition "51E" 90155.
I have some some slightly different weather technique to this engine to see how they would work (hoping they would anyway!)

This time I have this wonderful Bachmann WD limited Edition based on the one at the KWVR.
I have to make sure I do treat this one with the respect it deserve, no unecessary...

Yeah, I didn't want a KWVR loco! I'm doing North Eastern Locos! This loco will eventually be Stockton Based 90155.
I have so far carried out the following. Replacment smoke box darts.
Lubricators piping and water feed piping from 5 amp
There it is!
I completed J39! Fully tendered, weathered, watered and crewed!
The fire irons are from Springside and coal lovelingly given from City of Truro (omg not a western engine!) and the foremans coat was made in the same way as the weather sheet (some greaseproof tissue paper, crumpled three times and soaked in water/pva for a day.
Weathered was achieved via the same methods as perviously mentioned.

Oh dear! I it appears I may have, all of those bright colours... ah well never mind.
TBBH I'm awful at implying risk. But honestly After adding the vibrant rust colours I was a tad worried it may look awful once finished.
Anyway, as you'll find out later it turned out all okay.
Firsly was to applied a 50/50 mix of matt black and batt leather to the uncleaned bits of the loco (cab interior, roof, smokes, running plate, chassis, tender tops and coal space etc)

Right so here I am again, tlaking about the J39.
I decided that in keeping with all of my other modified locos the front coupling hook needed to be replaced with some brass wire, to necessitate this I sawed off the mount and reattached the steam heating pipe to the buffer beam sealing in with cyno-glue.
I also added some steam injector/ejector pipes to the underside of the footplate as per some refercne photographs I have seen. I find that although I'm not making an absolute scal
Just to keep you up dated at this moment in time in regards to my J39 from Bachmann.
I have added doors to the tender as they were there in the drawings I've seen. As you can see I have made one set of doors open, hopefully you'll see as you why later.
I have carved the moulded handle off the smoke box door and replaced it with brass wire. This was a little tricky but is it do-able. I have also given the locomotive a steam heating pipe and added the sand pipes too. In all there appe
Okay so far I have come to a point where I would consider the tender almost finished.
Here are a few shots, I've started work on the actual locomtive now but as ever, the work will be a little lengthy due to other commitments, however here are some pictures.
It was sprayed with Halfords matt black with several coats of humbrol 60 for the, brake handles buffers and buffer beam painted on by hand. Transfers by HMRS and varnished using humbrol 49.

Just a quick post to show some updates I have made.
I have made up some lamp brackets from plastic L strip also the brass rear steps were fashioned from some brass... (obv)
I has spreayed the whole thing with grey primer to highlight any areas that needed more attention (of which there were a few). I'm just waiting to get some more filler to work on the smaller areas. Whilst I am waiting to purchase that have also made some brake gear to give the chassis a little bit m
Well, I've managed to sort out my issues with the white metal kit.
Also contacted Mr Alexander (twice as I relaised there were a few more bits missi9ng I hadn't noticed before) and on both occasions he was very helpful and issued the missing parts.

I have a Dave Alexander 3,500 gallon tender kit.
I accidently put it together a little wrong which ended up having the superstructure being a bit twisted which required a resoldering and alot of "Malcolm Tucker dialogue" until I was relatively happy with the outcome.

Recently, I've been a bit inundated with railway modelling which is good, but I felt the need to do something else. Hence I remember as a student I bought a shed load of kits which I had left in the loft! Unfortunatly some of them (although unbuilt) and lost some parts which is a shame as I'd really like to do them. You never know... one day I might get the bits to finish a few off.

Right so finally, (I hope) my tanker train is ready to roll. I was a bit annoyed with some of the older club members when I first brought my tanker train which at the time was complete. I had spent alot of hard work and time into getting them ready. I will admit to using the same wheels as the kits which was a mistake since they didn't go well with the smp track. But I felt that their critisam wasn't very constructive unlike other memebers whyo were happy to dish out advice. Anyway, b****y rant

But as well as the match truck, I've been budy with a club project. A Peco OO gauge turntable, anyway, this had been built up and mechanised long before I came to the club and what with the old layout taking priority it remained missing for upwards of 5 years.
Well yet again, I'm busy modelling, amonsgt others things (working and writing) but I've now managed to complete my brake van and van kits, all are currnetly in the process of being weathered now which you shall see the finite product once complete, but whilst you wait... take a look at them "sort of" done!

I thought I should show you what I have been up to recently.
Next on the workbench have seen a rake of box vans plus an old Bachmann(mainline) Brake Van which was a good little miodel but very much lacking by todays standard.
so some under frame details have been added along with lamp brackets and brass handrails.
I've also been extending some kit built wagons to add a bit of veriaty to the brood. There are some parkie Palvans as well as a parkie shock wagon andth
Well it's all done now. Totally updated Hornby Railroad 9F. Practically complete. Only a couple of touch ups needed where I've glued things after I've painted.
Weathering is the same as the Ivatt, including Red frames.

I in the end decided to number her 92087. I slight in-joke I have taken a little bit of infantile humour in. 92087 was the first 9f built at Swindon, my club isn't a big GWR fan. I know, you had to be there to appreicate it.
I cut back the 92221 number with whitespirit.
