I thought some of you may be interested in some of the pictures taken during my visit to the SVR today. 4 engines in steam with on loan Pannier Tank 3650 in service alongside the 2-8-0 number 2857 and Ivatt 4 number 43106. The fourth engine was the Bulleid "Sir Keith Park" which made a light engine run from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster. It is seen here at Highley.

According to the railway's website it will run on the rear of the first Bridgnorth departure tomorrow top and tailing with 2857.

2857 is seen here arriving at Highley.

The remaining shots show 3650 and 43106 passing the Engine House.

Nice! Sir Keith park.. the only Rebuilt BoB in steam. Would be nice to see Sir Archie fixed and a pairing!

Some nice pictures there hope to get up there for the Auturm gala, sad it is the only BOB running... sadly 34059... still out for a long time... still trying to get various other engines done to fill in for it... don't see that running till mid or end of 2013

I wonder if the Bluebell could borrow this one whilst Sir Archie is out, meanwhile good luck with this one, I hope the usual boiler nasties have been well sorted....

Looks like I'm going to have to make a journey, do you know how long it will be staying?

I believe it is on long term loan and will certainly be there for the rest of the year. According to the web site it will be "running in" all week. What price a double headed turn before Friday?

I'm a little surprised that it hadn't been offered to the Bluebell as they played host to Southern Locomotives' Eddystone for an extended loan a few years ago and are in need of large motive power in the short term, and it would be a more appropriate location geographically for the loco. However, the Severn Valley's motive power shortage has been well documented of late, though they seem to have now recovered. With Taw Valley surely not too far away from a return I can see a lot of Southern enthusiasts heading to the SVR!

According to the SVR website Sir Keith ran unassisted on a passenger train today. Looks like I was a day too early! According to SVR News magazine Taw Valley may be back next year.
