Excuse the title, I couldn't resist! I'm still plodding along with my model of a William Clarke station building. Progress has hardly being made at lightning speed, but I'm happy with the end results so far. As I've said before, I think the chimneys on William Clarkes buildings are their crowning glory, so I wanted to capture their appearence as closely as possible. I used layers of plastic card to construct the stacks, inlaying "bricks" as required. Once the assembly had dried, the corners along the center of the stack were bevelled using a scalpel blade, then sanded smooth before rescribing the brickwork. Information supplied by Tim V, was invaluable in getting the detail right, so thanks once agin Tim!

I'm looking forward to fitting the chimneys to the main building shell and then starting on construction of the roof, over the next couple of weeks or so.

Best wishes

They look spot-on, Dave. The Clarke chimneys do have a very characteristic shape and you've captured that very well.

Looking forward to seeing them in place.

Very clever and creative use of plasticard, and the texture looks good too. Inspirational, thanks.

Fantastic bit of work. I must admit I have a liking for ornate chimney stacks and they are superb examples

Wow! Attention to essential detail (as my old drill instructor used to say) makes a world of difference.

And you can see it here.

The finished building will be a fine example to us all.

No Matey, but now X factor/Strictly come dancing are back on the telly, Mrs Wenlock is glued to the box and I can escape into the study and get some modelling done!
