An Update...

Hello everyone, after the period a few weeks ago where i was going hell for leather with the moddeling, i have slowed down slightly and have been taking stock! But since the last blog entry there has been alot of change on Dearnford! The hill that can be seen is a lump of polystyrene in the last blog entry is now complete and i have chaged the trackplan to accomodate the new TMD which will soon reside on the layout. Track is now down and wired in for thenew TMD and i have alos been doing various other small things to improve the look of the layout further! So here we go with picture time...

After a major stripping and cleaning to improve running 66135 is stabled on the entry road at Dearnford TMD with the resident "super gronk" in the background!

The main layout of the new TMD. Where the 47 is, is where the maintenend shed will be, the 37 is sitting on what will become the fueling road and the 09/66 are on the main stabling road.

Another shot of the layout of the yard, also showing the new layout of the mainline in relation to the crossover.

The other end of the yard.

The hill, with church on top.

A crude closeup shpowing the overgrown embankment that slopes down from the church yard. This is soo steep to allo clearence for longer trains such as a 153 or a Voyager.

And finally, soemthing i spent yesterday working on, a modern buffer stop as found at many terminus stations which will be fitted to the bay paltform. This was inspired by JZjr's Llandaff South layout and a trip to Euston on Friday where they caught my eye. Still need to fit the working buffer light.

So this is how its looking at the moment, next jobs include building and installing lighing to the shed, building lighting rigs for the yard and building a signalto allow trains out of the yard, onto the mainline.

What does everyone think??

Danny

Good work so far - great details. How about a loco hoist outside the maintenance shed (Ratio do a nice kit)? Something a little different.

Yes i was thinking along the lines of that James! It is for light maintenence, so think an overhead crane would fit in pretty well really!

Thanks for all the kind comments guys!
