A West Country Hero - Part 2

Not quite 'finished', but at least back in one piece (at the last minute) in a presentable state for Railex.

On the whole it's far from perfect (and very shiny just now) but I am very pleased with the result.

I'll say more later. For now, here are a couple of slightly iffy photos (dull and rainy day light available today)

Off to load up St Ruth for Railex now.

That's a lovely finish on there Andy.  Am I right in thinking you've added your etched goodies to this loco?

All the best to the St Ruth crew for Railex as well.  May see you there on Sunday.

Cheers,

Mark

Yes Mark, etched widow frames and 10 thou glazing all round on the cabs. Bit of a pain to do, especially at almost midnight last night.

Hope to see you on Sunday.

Thought as much. ;)

The warning panel has come up really good too. When you do a more detailed blog entry it will be interesting to see how you achieved it.

Cheers,

Mark

Lovely model Andy! Those etched windows really do make a difference so worth all the effort.

Best regards,

Jeremy

Looks really good. What are you planning on doing for windscreen wipers? (just out of curiosity - not a criticism)

Ah... free Internet at the Railex Olympic Lodge... cool.

St Ruth shifted and put together. Beer drunk. Life is good.

Thanks for all of the comments folks, especialy Pete who seems particularly keen on this occasion.

Windscreen wipers... hmm... probably the same solution used on my other locos really. Maybe I will change my mind one day and start putting them on.

I'll try. Very enjoyable day today although I didn't seem to get out from behind the layout very much. Hope to get a bit more of a wander around the show tomorrow.

Regards, Andy
