Hello.

The October storms have been felt already at Highclere as one of the pines sadly has suffered to the high winds...

Fortunately minimal damage occurred and no-one was injured as the tree was felled by the severe storm with gusts of wind estimated at around 70 m.p.h.

Other news include the receipt of some more lovely 3D printed bits fresh from Rabs excellent printer...

I cant wait to get my modelling tools around these bits! Thanks Rabs.

Those traction engine wheels look good Julia, and what's that Southern loco in the background.

You're welcome.  I'm not going to have time to build mine for a while as I'm tracklaying at the moment, so I'll look forward to seeing how yours goes.

Hello Guys :)

More interesting stuff is that a J type van?

Don

Yes it is, good spot! Im looking forward to seeing how this ends up. I just need a company name for the side of it.

Thats very interesting. Its my latest purchase off of that Ebay thing. I have checked through the drawings and it looks like a King Arthur engine to me so its interesting to see the number is incorrect? Anyway its destined for a few detailing etches and a repaint in a nice BR green colour sometime in the future.

I didnt think anyone would notice it in the background!

You can tell that from that photo?

WOW!

The existence of the continuous splasher is a bit of a giveaway. S15s had smaller driving wheels, a different wheelbase, and no splashers

The Post OFfice had some J type vans cannot say if there were any around Highclere. I wonder if BR used any for parcels delivery?

I await the build with interest. Do you know what printer Rabs is using?

Thats interesting to know, thanks Don.

I was thinking of painting the van (when I get that far!) in some generic private company colour and I hadnt thought about the post office or BR until now.

Rabs machine is a B9 Creator which is a kind of 'budget' stereolithography machine. The results he has been getting from it though are the best I have seen so far.

Funny thing but in the RM there was an advert for 00 size J vans in various liveries including BR and GPO telephones (I can remember seeing one of those myself now).
